To date this year, WFO has had an incredible impact on our communities:
• WFO served over 2000 clients across our programs, referred from sixty non-profit organizations and in partnership with more than 200 volunteers
• WFO has provided professional attire and one-on-one consultations on creating a professional image to over 1300 low-income jobseekers. The employment rate for clients receiving professional interview clothing rose by 85% within a month of their appointment. Over 90% of WFO’s working wardrobe recipients were still employed, three months after their appointment and the average annual salary increased by 23%.
• Interview workshops were in high demand! We doubled the number of workshops, including new sessions with companies such as Nordstrom and West America Bank, offering twenty-four workshops for our clients. Within one month of participation, employment among our clients increased by 100% and average annual income grew from $10,552 to $17,288, a 64% increase.
• In 2009, WFO’s innovative personal and career development program, Pathways, was expanded. We offered four Pathways for Women, the first ever Pathways for Men and in December, will deliver the first off-site Pathways program in San Francisco! To date, 90% of graduates have retained employment and the average annual salary increased from $15,150 to $18,557, a 22.5% increase.
• Success Series was launched! To build on Pathways’ success, WFO developed the year-long Success Series to include workshops, career coaching and mentoring to help individuals build successful careers. Four months into the first program, participants have already experienced an average 15% increase in annual income. |
