GOING REMOTE

As of the last few months, COVID-19 closures have caused many places to go remote, including the Wardrobe for Opportunity (WFO) Office in Downtown Oakland. But just because our office is closed doesn’t mean we've pressed pause on our programs. WFO has offered different programs and workshops over Zoom with great results. Jesse B, a graduate of an online Accelerate program said he "really enjoyed the class" and that it "not only reinforced some things I knew but it reminded me of things I had forgotten or sometimes overlook, as well as provided some key points that were unknown to me before." But not only are the Core Programs getting rave reviews, but our supplementary workshops through Zoom are also a hit. A participant of our Professional Makeup Workshop said "Technology allowed us to enjoy it without the need of leaving our house, plus the facilitator explained the steps really well and answered all our questions." Future programs WFO offers are outlined in a weekly WFO Remote Services Newsletter. In addition to notifying clients about upcoming programs, the newsletter also informs clients of resources that could be useful during this pandemic, like a list of companies that are currently hiring and links to useful information regarding health, money, and housing.
